Genetic Flaw
Musician/Biologist/Ninja
I am Genetic Flaw. I'm from the beautiful Pacific Northwest of the USA. The last few years, however, I've been a German resident. Last year, I finished up a project that I've spent 20 years off-and-on working on. A concept album dedicated to a friend I lost to suicide at just 19 years old. My music is a blend of industrial electronic with thrash metal influences, among other more progressive elements.
As far as a musical career goes, I don't really have one. I'm not necessarily deluding myself into thinking I'm going to be rich and famous, and I've never even performed live (though I would like to, at least once for the Bucket List).
That said, I put a lot of love and effort into my writing and recording because music is a vital staple of my soul's diet. Growing up with a dad that majored in music in college and sang damn-near as good as any of the Three Tenors, it goes without saying that music was part of my roots.
What I would like to achieve with my music is to make a positive impact and leave a legacy. The concept album, "re-Render me," seeks to do so by providing an emotional outlet for others who may suffer - even occasionally - from suicidal tendencies. In addition, I have a YouTube show, Kitchen Sink Microscopy. I'd like to use my music as a way to direct some attention toward the think-tank projects we come up with there.
I've also done plenty of other music outside of this concept album project, which I've been working on remastering as of late. I learned a lot during the making of RRM that I decided to turn around and apply retroactively to make my former compositions align more with the way it sounded in my head to begin with.
