Written in 2004 after watching Robin William's excellent portrayal of a troubled man who grew up in a tortured environment in the film, One Hour Photo, this song tells the story of that movie with my signature darkness. I'm working on compiling a music video with clips of the movie, which I'm sure I'll be summarily sued for by Disney, or whoever owns the rights now.

Lyrics

Interrupted thoughts
And corrupted plots
Milestones of time
Captured in rhyme
A picture worth a thousand words
Never heard
Watching through an open window
I want to know
Snap and click and hum
I know that sound
Shutter traps the light
Freezing time
I'm swimming in your visual memoirs
Doing this
Should be no crime

Impressive, isn't it
What you learn
Through a photograph
Eerie, isn't it
That I know you so well

In this room, so very dark
You fade back into existence
By my hands
You live forever

Cradling a child
That never grows
Laughing with the love
She never knows (what I know)
Appreciating abstract imagery
Intrusively
I live
In a menagerie

Impressive, isn't it
What you learn
Through a photograph
Eerie, isn't it
That I know you so well

I have been years in the making
I've watched your world grow
Don't take this all away from me
Oh, how I love you so

You say I'm crazy?
Maladjusted?
Out of my brain?
Stepped out of line?
I cannot cope
This loneliness
What makes her worthy
To be his not mine?

Impressive, isn't it
What you learn
Through a photograph
Eerie, isn't it
That I know you so well
(What I know)

Take the picture
Take the picture
Take the picture
Oh no oh no
